Saturday Jan 28 2-4PM
Well the snow has fallen and it looks like it’s here to stay! So we are going to take a nice winter stroll along the west part of the Avon river. Starting at the paid parking lot on York street, we will progress along the river into the Shakespeare Gardens, behind Central Highschool, Up Mclagen Dr and back around on T J Dolan Dr.
Parking is free for two hours on the weekends for the winter, so I believe you do not need to feed the meters in this parking lot.

Hope some of you can make it out!

Now that spring finally appears to be on it’s way, I am thinking it is time for more walks and more photos! I would like to take a wander along the river, with the starting point being at the Civic Garden Complex on Springbank Road just west of Wonderland. We would wander north east in direction up the river bank, towards Greenway Park and then return the same direction if that suits our walkers.
Rain or shine, let’s get a good start at 9:30 am for a two hour walk along the Thames River, there are a lot of birds, bikers, walkers, pets and their people to photograph on a nice spring morning! Come out and join in the fun. We will meet up for coffee, and chit chat at the Coffee Cultures on Richmond Street at approximately 11:30 ish if anyone wanders off.
Looking forward to seeing you all out for a great photo op!

From Tim Carrol:
As I was browsing the internet I came across these walks that might be of interest to my fellow London Photo Walks members. I don’t know about you but I take my camera wherever I go anyway.
On New Year’s Day Jan 1, the Thames Valley Trail Association AND Nature London (the birdwatchers) are both having walks at Springbank Park but starting from different spots and at different times.
According to their web page http://www.thamesvalleytrail.org/walks.html the Thames Valley Trail Association is starting from the west end of Springbank off Commissioners Road at 9 AM.
Nature London http://www.mcilwraith.ca/ is having their walk at Springbank Park too. They are meeting at the former Guy Lombardo Museum off Wonderland Road on Saturday, January 1, 2011, 10:00 am
Since one walk runs 9 until 10, the other starts at 10 you might even be able to make it to both walks and work off some of your New Years cheer.
All the best
Tim Carroll
I have made arrangement’s with Mathew Zubick, for a private tour photo op through the scrapyard! The yard closes at noon, and we will be there to meet Mathew to get the ground rules, and be welcomed to the yard! He has been most gracious in letting us in after the yard is closed for the day, so our photographers can get up close and personal and capture those fabulous shots. He will be interested in having access to photos for publicity and such after the photowalk if anyone is interested in submitting their shots to him. The Fanshawe College Fine Arts Students make large sculptures each year, last years theme was bugs and this year’s theme is fish! i can hardly wait.
On Saturday, November 6th, 2010, we will meet up at Chris Baldwin’s shop at 1690 Gore Road, Contract Supply is the name. The meeting time will be 11:15 am. We can walk over to Zubick’s from there, walking and taking photos for the one km. walk. Chris has graciously offered to open up the shop where they do the welding for yet more fabulous shots! Thank you Chris. Cars can be left at the shop, where there is ample parking and it is easy to get to.
This should be a really fascinating walk, hope you can come out and join us!
