Introducing PhotoCamp London Canada!

Under: Events, News, Sponsors 27 March 2010 No comments

It is with pleasure that I am telling you all about PhotoCamp London! I(James) have been wanting to do this since the very popular PodCamp London last year, and then SMarts London, and PodCamp Toronto. It is time to focus on the Arts again and get everyone out to share, learn, and contribute to our artistic community! So here it is! PhotoCamp London Canada and unconference on photography & cinematography!

What is PhotoCamp London?

PhotoCamp is for everyone; newbies, professionals, teachers — everyone is welcome! PhotoCamp is about creating an affordable (free) event with themes surrounding photography and cinematography. Education and community involvement take a front seat throughout the discussions of these mediums.

An unconference is a small conference where the content is provided by the attendees. Each conference will have only a basic structure up until it starts. People are asked to contribute sessions that they want to present or hear about. Those sessions are picked up by someone with experience in that field and they present it. A session is between 5 and 30 minutes and can cover any topic related to photography and cinematography.

When is PhotoCamp London?

PhotoCamp London is proud to be hosted by the London Public Library, at the Central branch, located in the heart of our fine city. The event will be filled with lots of fun learning and networking among fellow photographers. So mark your calendars and register now!

When: Saturday September 11th, 2010

Where: London Public Library – Central Branch

Time: 9:30am-4:00pm followed by the London PhotoWalk and a networking social after wards.

Lens Lenders

Lens Lenders is a great local (London, Ontario) service which allows Nikon and Canon users to rent various lenses and flashes at very affordable rates right over the Internet. With fast shipping and handling included its a great way to either test out a potential purchase or to be creative with a different style of lens.

Here at the London Photo Walk we are also happy to announce that Lens Lenders is an official sponsor of this months Photo Walk.

The prize is a $1 one-week lens rental as a door prize.  Everyone who shows up and participates in this months Photo Walk is eligible to win this prize.

Once again we would like to thank Lens Lenders for sponsoring the Photo Walk.

Lens Lenders details their operations by saying:

Rent lenses through the mail for your Canon or Nikon SLR camera! Rental lenses are delivered to your door by Canada Post inside a professional, waterproof Pelican case. Enjoy the lens for a weekend or weekly rental, then re-package the rental lens into it’s Pelican case and use the pre-paid shipping bag to return it to any Canada Post outlet. Simply hand the return package to the Canada Post clerk and the return is done! Shipping to you and return shipping back to us is free.

With Internet online ordering, credit card payments through Paypal and free to-your-door delivery, renting lenses from Lens Lenders is more convenient than driving to a store to rent. Returning rental lenses is also easier than using a store – simply use the included pre-paid shipping bag and return the lens at your neighbourhood Canada Post outlet.

Canada Post allows us to deliver rental lenses to anywhere in Canada, including to apartments and RR addresses.

Next time you are looking to try out a lens before you buy, want to have a weekend of creativity, or need to supplement the lenses you already have checking out Lens Lender might be the perfect option.

Once again we would like to thank Lens Lenders for sponsoring the Photowalk yet again.
