SMarts London

Under: Events 16 September 2009

Museum London along with the London Arts Council have teamed up to offer an unconference centred around social media for the arts to be held Saturday November 14, 2009

For those unfamiliar with the term unconference, an unconference is an event where most of the day’s content comes from the participants and the participants alone. All attendees are welcome to present on any topic that they think would benefit their fellow unconference goers.

Organized by Bill Deys and Titus Ferguson, (organizers of the highly successful PodCamp London) SMarts London hopes to offer the following to the vast arts community of London, Ontario and surrounding regions:

SMArts London will be a free “unconference” that will feature a full-day of sessions and discussions that seeks to connect artists (performing arts (theatre, dance, performance), visual (fine arts, photography, painting, etc.), multimedia (film & video, computer) and academic/curatorial artistic communities), art administrators and art dealers with the social media practitioners and enthusiasts who can help them understand the value, potential and benefits of new media.

Many of you whom participate in the London Photo Walk on a monthly basis may find an unconference such as SMarts to be a very beneficial experience.  Learning about and contributing to ways in which new media can be used in order to establish and promote yourself as an artist could be a great benefit to anyone.

I urge you to check out the SMarts London website for more details.  If you are interested in attending the event on Saturday November 14, 2009 at Museum London then head on over to sign up for FREE.
